I have been involved in lighting since the age of 10 when I was the motive power behind a rather Heath-Robinson contraption my father had built to experiment with the manufacture of glass fibre shades. Later these went into production and I attended my first Lighting Show in 1969 at Harrogate the same week the first man landed on the moon. After my degree in Ergonomics at Loughborough University I spent the next 30 years as a member of this Association, 13 of them on the Council of Management and one as President.
My time as a member has equipped me to see the Lighting Association from a members’ perspective and understand their needs. It has also allowed me to make many good friends and acquaintances so where better to be than right here?
